Moroccan doctors form own body
Doctors with a Moroccan background set up their own organisation yesterday, AMAN. They envisage “making a contribution to the improvement of the lagging position of Moroccan patients” in Dutch healthcare, according to website Maghreb.nl.
Moroccan patients in the Netherlands reportedly have specific problems to which AMAN is calling attention. “Here one can think of problems in psychiatry and problems relating to the cultural and religious background,” according to Maghreb.nl, a website for the Moroccan community.
“The Moroccan background and cultural stock-in-trade of these doctors is an added value. They function fully in Dutch society and have made the values and standards of this West European society their own,” according to Maghreb.nl
