RUSSIA AND THE EU
On March 11 at 7.30 pm, a public debate will take place on trade and political relations between Russia and the EU under the title ‘Strategic partners or competing neighbours’. With Hiddo Houben, Member of Cabinet responsible for Bilateral and Regional Trade Strategy of the European Commission, researcher Marietta Koenig, and Vladimir Socor, Senior Fellow of the Jamestown Foundation, Washington. Organised by Concordantia.
Venue: the Auditorium Faculty of Economics, Maastricht University, Tongersestraat 53, Maastricht. Free admission.

FIRST FILM FORUM
On April 7 at 7.30 pm, Maastricht Debates in cooperation with COS Limburg and Lumière Cinema organises a Film Forum which combines a movie with discussion. The first issue is on conflicts in Africa featuring the documentary film ‘Another African Story’ by award winning filmmaker Emanuele Piano who will be present to join the discussion.

MAASTRICHT DEBATES
The Maastricht Debates is one activity within a larger programme of the Society of International Development (SID). It is a platform for debate and networking on issues of international cooperation and globalisation. Each debate is organised by issue experts from within the Maastricht network together with internationally oriented study associations.
The Maastricht Debates is a collaborate initiative of the University Maastricht, the Netherlands Chapter of the Society for International Development (SID), the European Centre for Development Policy Management (ECDPM), Europe-open, movie theatre Lumière, and Concordantia, the study association of the European Studies program of the University Maastricht. It receives financial support by the Netherlands Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the National Committee for International Cooperation and Sustainable Development (NCDO) and operates in collaboration with the Municipality of Maastricht.
