14-16 March: Jazz Maastricht Masters festival
While Tefaf is exposing the great masters of fine art, a major cultural event – Tijdens Tefaf - will take place in the town theatre ‘Theater aan het Vrijthof’.
The world masters of jazz are performing in Maastricht on 14-16 March. Every artist who performs on the main stage of Jazz Maastricht Masters belongs to the best in the world in his category: The Yellow Jackets are the world’s top in the area of fusion jazz. Nobody equals Toots Thielemans as harmonica (or mouth harp) player, The Rosenberg Family (the famous trio with their sons the Gipsy Boys) offers the best in Gipsy jazz.
And there will be other great musicians like Diane Schuur, Enrico Rava, David Linx & Fay Claassen, great talents like Frank Giebels, Anke Angel and Boogie Boy.
Surprises like The Duet from Israel and Steven Delannoye from Belgium. Jazz Maastricht engaged the Zawinul Syndicate for this festival, but unfortunately Joe Zawinul passed away in September. Ron van Stratum formed a septet with a.o. Mike Roelofs and Afra Mussawisade, and produced a tribute to the master.
The after party in the Groote Sociëteit is orchestrated by DJ Maestro and his guests.
