From today’s Radio Netherlands Press Review:

Today’s Volkskrant reports on the ‘mediocre grades culture among Dutch university students. A large-scale study conducted by the University of Maastricht shows that compared with their counterparts from other European countries, Dutch students are the least ambitious: two out of three don’t make an effort to get a higher grade than strictly necessary to pass an exam.

The story follows earlier reports revealing that nowhere in the world do students in higher education learn so little as in the Netherlands. On the other hand, the knowledge of low-educated people in the Netherlands is the highest in the world.
