Dutch integration courses not effective

Dutch Integration Minister Ella Vogelaar says that the integration of migrants in Dutch society leave much to be desired. More than half the participants in integration courses fail to reach the desired level of fluency in Dutch, and many make no progress even after attending a special language course. Ms Vogelaar says that under the circumstances the cabinet’s policy of making integration courses compulsory for larger groups of people does not make much sense.
