Crossroads update

Welcome to a new update about recent developments on Crossroads, the web magazine for expatriates in Maastricht published by the European Journalism Centre.

Photographs from Flickr
There are so many beautiful photographs of South Limburg and Maastricht on the photo sharing website Flickr (www.flickr.com) that I thought it would be great to display them on Crossroads as well. So now you can see a series of rotating photographs (in thumbnail format) just under the Crossroads header. A simple click on the thumbnail will take you to the original photograph on Flickr.

New features on the sidebar
New features are displayed on the sidebar since May 12, 2007. These allow you to see:

• our 10 most recent articles
• our 10 most viewed articles
• 5 random articles from our archives (to give you a glimpse into what we’ve published in the past)

Views per article
It is now possible to keep track of the number of views per article. (It is this feature that lets us display the list of our 10 most viewed articles on the sidebar mentioned above.)

NB: Since this feature was only installed on May 12, 2007, the real number of views for articles published before that date is naturally much higher!

Video clips
The European Journalism Centre has recently started recording lectures and conferences given in Maastricht and has made them available via Google Video. But now you can now also access two of them directly via Crossroads: (under “Reviews”)
