8 June: Maastrichts Mooiste Waiter Race
May 20, 2007
How fast and accurate are our waiters? They can show their skills in Maastricht, the city with the highest density of cafes in the Netherlands. Does a city like Maastricht also has the best waiters?
Maastrichts Mooiste Waiter Race is a fun race between teams of waiters, who have to take glasses, filled with beer and sodas, from start to finish and have several difficult passages on their way.
The race takes place on Friday night 8 June 2007, from 8 - 10 pm on the Kesselskade in Maastricht (along the river Maas).
Waiter teams of four persons have to run in their apron over a distance of 4 x 100 metres. An official jury will check the contents of their glasses and correct this with the time they have run.
Teams run against each other in a knock-out-system. Series start at 8 pm. The final is at approx. 10 pm.
The best team wins a helicopter flight above the city of Maastricht the next day.
