UNU-MERIT researchers ranked among top international economists

UNU-MERIT director, Luc Soete and three professorial fellows - John Hagedoorn, Enrico Perotti and Robin Cowan - are ranked among the top Dutch-based international economists in an annual ranking published by Economisch Statistische Berichten (ESB), a Dutch economic journal.
Professors Soete and Hagedoorn are ranked 11th and 12th respectively in international citations for the period 1999-2003. Professors Perotti (3rd) and Cowan (6th) are among the top performers in a separate “citatie-tipparade” category, which lists the best newcomers based on citations in the final year of the measurement period (2003-only). The 2005 rankings were published in the 7 April 2006 edition of the journal.
