Oldest archaeological find in Belgian Limburg

An amateur archaeologist has uncovered the oldest archaeological site in Flanders in a loam pit in Riemst (Limburg).

The find includes several tools made of flint. The artefacts are believed to be between three hundred and four hundred thousand years old.
