The student pack for the Dutch integration course for immigrants overseas goes on sale in bookshops on Tuesday.

Many people wishing to come to the Netherlands, particularly those from developing countries, are obliged from 15 March to sit an integration exam in their home country.

The student pack costs EUR 64 and can also be ordered via the website Naar Nederland, the Ministry of Justice announced on Monday.

The pack consists of a film about the Netherlands on video or DVD, a book with photographs from the film and a CD-Rom of questions and three mock exams for the Dutch language test.

The exam is taken at the Dutch embassy or consulate in the candidate’s country and costs EUR 350.

The aim is to show the candidate has an understanding of the Dutch language or culture. Once in the Netherlands, the person has to complete a normal integration course and exam.
