Currently, one of the most discussed topics on the global field of economics and business is the emergence of China into an influential economic superpower.

The China Business Congress, organised by the University of Maastricht together with Financial Study association FOCUS on 10-11 May 2006, will focus on the future impacts of events taking place in China and how these events influences the European and US market. Furthermore, we also like to stress out investment opportunities in China from both theoretical and practical point of view.

The dynamics in China can bring threats to certain industries, but by understanding the situation and the interdependent character of the economies these dynamics can also leads to opportunities for companies in the Netherlands.

Speakers will include former German chancellor Mr Helmut Schmidt, Mr Henk Brouwer, Director of the Dutch Central Bank, Mr Li, Managing Director of E.J. & McKay & Co and Prof. Dr. Xu Xiaonian, Managing Director and Head of Research CICC.

There will be a possibility to network with the attending business professionals and speakers during lunch and drinks.
